IFSS Committees & Commissions – 2009 The following IFSS committees and commissions are under the direction of Bengt Pontén, IFSS President ( This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it ): REGISTERED NORDIC PURE BREED COMMITTEE: Chairperson: Massimo Bassan, Italy ( This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it ) ~ Facilitate and engage in collaboration between IFSS and Registered Nordic Breed events and organizations. ~ Collaborate with the International Cynologic Societies. ~ Harmonize IFSS rules with the needs of the Registered Nordic Breeds groups. ~ Organize specific events involving Registered Nordic Breeds. LEGAL COMMISSION: Chairperson: Lana Paul, New Zealand ( This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it ) ~ Investigate the need and make proposals to correct discrepancies between regulations or between new proposed regulations and existing ones, and to correct nebulous wordings. The Commission is not intended to comment on the justification of the regulations. ~ Through the Secretary General, furnish the Members with updated versions of the regulations, when needed. ~ Review all proposals for new rules and rules amendments, and submit its recommendations to the deciding body. ~ Submit its opinion when questions of interpretation arise. ~ Oversee implementation and application of IFSS regulations. ~ Assist IFSS with legal matters when requested. NOMINATING COMMISSION: Chairperson: Sara Vanderwood USA ( This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it ) ~ The Nominating Commission shall secure nominations for the Council offices of President, the Vice Presidents, and for Commission Members (except for the Nominating Commission itself) The following committees are under the direction of Bernard Pepin, Vice President of Sport ( This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it ) WORLD CUP COMMITTEE: Chairperson: Sally O’Sullivan Bair, USA ( This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it ) ~ Review all the applications for World Cup races. ~ Evaluate the frequency and the breakdown of the WCp and make recommendations. ~ Review the World Cup Regulations annually and make recommendations to the VP for Sport. ~ Calculate World Cup points. RACE REGULATIONS COMMITTEE: Chairperson: Sergey Paniukhin, Russia ( This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it ) ~ Review on an annual basis existing race rules and develop new race rules for the activities not yet formalized. ~ Develop technical rules to help race organizers (i.e. trail layout, marking, etc). WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS COMMITTEE: Chairperson: Bernard Pepin, France ( This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it ) ~ Develop the contract with World Championship organizations based on the commitments accepted by IFSS and the ~ Develop the Race program and the invitation in cooperation with the WCh organizer. ~ Receive and control the entries in cooperation with the treasurer. ~ Investigate the development of the various disciplines and make recommendations for the program of future World Championships. RACE JUDGES COMMITTEE: Chairperson: Aad Hekkers, Netherlands ( This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it ) ~ Advise the VP for Sport on all matters concerning the IFSS judges. ~ Evaluate the needs for judges training and develop or accredit training programs. ~ Maintain a list of accredited judges in cooperation with the member federations. ~ Keep the judges up to date with the IFSS regulations. ANTI-DOPING COMMITTEE: Chairperson: Carin Ahlstedt, Sweden ( This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it ) ~ Review IFSS Anti-Doping Rules annually. ~ Keep IFSS abreast of and updated on anti-doping regulations and procedures as per WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency). SPORTS MEDICINE AND ANIMAL WELFARE COMMITTEE: Chairperson: Adelmo Rossin, Italy ( This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it ) ~ Advise the VP for Sport on health legal requirements for dogs and humans in the WCh countries. ~ Propose minimum health requirements (i.e. mandatory vaccinations) for the WCh events. ~ Propose animal welfare regulations to be integrated into the IFSS rules. ~ Maintain a list of veterinarians and doctors in cooperation with the member federations to keep them updated with new local or IFSS regulations. |
